Cooking Masterclass from top chef

Fancy getting some professional inspiration and cookery tips from an expert in the kitchen?

If you’re passionate about cooking, then join top chef Valerie Hamelin at one of her Masterclasses for some culinary fun.

No previous experience is necessary and only ten people will be working together to enjoy the fruits of her experiences and it’s a chance to learn tips and tricks to cook a fantastic meal from the basic ingredients.

Valerie, head chef at the top class country house hotel Hazlewood Castle, says: “The Masterclasses are always popular and we have a great time deciding what to cook from our ingredients, putting a menu together and cooking it.

“Of course the part where we eat what we prepare is even more popular!”

Valerie adds that it’s also a great way for work colleagues to bond in a spin on team building activities and the Castle can tailor the course for exclusive use.

She says: “It’s a great way to work as a team which is how kitchens operate.

“Interest in cooking good quality food has never been higher and everyone will leave richer in experience and have had a really good time learning new things.”

Hazlewood Castle is renowned for its excellent food and is set in stunning surroundings between York and Leeds.

Masterclass dates for this year are: JUNE: 19th 20th 21st; JULY: 3rd 4th 5th; AUG: 7th 8th 9th; SEPT: 11th 12th 13th; OCT: 2nd 3rd 4th; NOV: 6th 7th 8th; DEC: 4th 5th 6th.

The Masterclasses take place in the afternoons and begin with a Champagne reception followed by a two course luncheon in the restaurant and then the two hour Masterclass in the Castle kitchens.

It ends with afternoon tea in the restaurant and a chance to unwind.

By special arrangement, Valerie also offers a one-to-one Masterclass for a true hands-on experience. Details are available upon request.
