The WVHTC Foundation, based in Fairmont, W.Va., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that functions as an engine of economic change for growing a statewide, regional and national high-tech business sector. The Foundation has established a multi-faceted approach to maximize economic development, commercialization and workforce expansion within the state. Since its inception 15 years ago, the WVHTC Foundation has accomplished many significant milestones including: the opening of the NASA IV&V Facility in the Technology Park; helping bring the FBI facility to Clarksburg, WV; teaming to bring the Biometrics Fusion Center into the area; establishment of the Intellectual Property Management Group; continued expansion of the over 400 acre Technology Park; and, most recently, developing the nationally acclaimed Amberview system that aides in the recovery missing children.

The Affiliate Leadership Council (ALC) consists of fourteen members of the WVHTC Foundation and serves as a link between the Foundation and West Virginia’s growing business and academic communities. The ALC Members meet to provide strategic input to the Foundation and to ensure that the programs and services being offered benefit these communities. The Council conducts educational programs, facilitates networking opportunities, offers health care plans and advocates on behalf of the more than 200 affiliates companies.

“In recent years, Fairmont, W Va. has become a center for technological advancement in the state, and I am proud to be a part of this technology movement. The technology park houses many national and international technology organizations. In addition, there are many locally grown technology companies, like PTT, that derive great benefit from the efforts of the WVHTC Foundation. Not only is the Technology Park first class, but we are able to provide job opportunities for highly skilled workers and bring substantial growth into the community and the state,” stated Scott Trefz, President of PTT.

Precision Telecom Technologies is itself a success story of the Foundation’s Innovator program, which offers a place for forward-thinking, technology based businesses to develop. PTT is thrilled to be a part of the innovative, energetic community that brings awareness to West Virginia’s greatest asset – its people.
