The Wine School of Philadelphia is proud to announce its premiere sponsorship of the 2006 season of the Sturdy Girl Racing Team & Club. “Our sponsorship of this great bicycle club is part of our ongoing commitment to the Philadelphia community.” Says Keith Wallace, director of the Wine School of Philadelphia, “not to mention, they rock, and rock hard”

The Sturdy Girls won USA Cycling’s Division III “Club of the Year” for the 2005 season. “They are one of the most dedicated cycling clubs I have ever seen” says Keith “and offer a very supportive cycling experience for women. Did I mention they rock?” The Wine School’s “Powered by Wine Lust” logo is prominently displayed on the back of the team’s jerseys for the current Spring & Summer riding season.

Sturdy Girl Cycling started in the Spring of 2003 as a weekly ride. But as participation increased and enthusiasm built, they found themselves apart of a larger movement of women into the sport. Over 60 women joined the club in the last year. Their website is located at www.sturdygirlcycling.com.

“Its an exciting time at the Wine School of Philadelphia,” says Mr. Wallace, “our students are taking positions throughout the wine industry. Our graduates include importers, distributors, sommeliers, shop owners, and winery owners.”

The Wine School programs differ from other programs available. While most wine education is based on rote memorization, the Wine School uses dynamic teaching methods based on current research. “Our programs are immensely enjoyable and educational. We are also building the future of the wine industry, one student at a time.”

The Wine School will soon be announcing a partnership with a major university to offer a fully accredited diploma program for the wine professional. Currently, its flagship program, the Wine Foundation Program, is open for registration for the spring semester. Information on programs are available at www.winedegree.com.
