AutoTURN 5.1 - Transoft Solutions new release

Support for better articulated vehicle swept path evaluation has arrived

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 12, 2006 - Vancouver, B.C, Canada

The world's leading vehicle maneuver and swept path simulation software has just received a functionality enhancement. The new AutoTURN 5.1 version from Transoft Solutions, internationally renowned developers of CAD based software solutions for the architectural and engineering sector, promises to set another standard for transportation design tools.

AutoTURN 5.1 includes a selection of new and productivity enhancing improvements that increase the level of dynamic usability and flexibility users around the world have come to expect from the software company. Along with new and updated vehicle libraries (AASHTO 2004, CALTRANS/CALTRANSM 2005 and other European libraries), this new release includes a new front and rear steering linkage system. This allows designers the ability to create front and rear steering vehicles with the ability to specify the linkage ratios between the front and rear wheels - ideal for multi-axle semi-trailer, truck and articulated bus modeling.

Noel Dolotallas, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Transoft Solutions, had this to say about the new software upgrade. "The need for our latest version of AutoTURN in the transportation design sector was readily apparent. As space requirements become more and more restrictive because of increase urban development; design parameters our users need to abide by have also become more complex. Now AutoTURN 5.1 incorporates front and rear steering linkage which allows designers more flexibly for assessing a greater variety of vehicles of which can negotiate site layouts. Our users were clamoring for this specific functionality and we responded in kind."

Speaking on behalf of Transoft's European division, Europe Vice President, Jeroen Vuister, commented: "In European countries, we have very tight road and curb dimensions to adhere to. Due to a variety of factors, such as high population densities and because many streets and buildings were constructed on top of ancient roadways and structures previously laid out centuries ago, space is definitely at a premium. On top of that, countries such as Denmark, France, and Germany sport many of the world's most intricate roadway roundabouts and traffic calming initiatives. So one can see articulated vehicles are the norm for getting larger and longer types of vehicles such as buses and trucks around in Europe. This goes to show the effectiveness of AutoTURN 5.1 that users will be able to employ when testing their design plans."

Mr. Dolotallas concluded, "I see this as another step in keeping with our company's mandate of continually providing top of the line software for our industry. To achieve our level of success means we never rest; we have the gumption and forethought to always push for product improvements. And I believe, unequivocally, that's one of the driving reasons that keep us in business."

AutoTURN 5.1 new features comprise of:

Front and rear steering linkage: users can now specify different ratios for different ranges of steering angles
Increased number of vehicle axles and larger axle spacing when creating customized types
New ability to repeatedly loop vehicle simulation animations for dynamic presentations
New vehicle libraries including: AASHTO 2004 (US) and CALTRANS/CALTRANSM 2005
Expanded standard and specialized vehicle libraries for many European countries as well as North America and Australia
AutoTURN 5.1 is intended for civil engineers, drafters, urban planners, and land developers and is designed to integrate fully with Transoft's line of solution offerings, to provide ehanced productivity and efficiency for transportation design projects. Compatible with both AutoCAD and MicroStation platforms, AutoTURN is currently in use in over 80 countries with major government departments, engineering, and design companies that provide important infrastructure work.
