Fibromyalgia Awareness Day Marks Launch Of New Service
(
PRLEAP.COM) (Windsor, Ontario, Canada) Today, Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, marks the launch of FibroBuddy.com - a new online service that helps people who have this disabling condition. The new website offers its members access to the latest health information, group support, and most importantly, alternative income opportunities.
Fibromyalgia is a highly disabling and little understood medical condition characterized by widespread migrating body pain and chronic fatigue. Symptoms are often so severe that patients are no longer able to work full-time. Medical disability benefits are also difficult to obtain, as more than 80% of applicants are usually turned down. This financial crisis leads to patients experiencing high levels of anxiety, which tends to exacerbate symptoms.
Founded by Dave Leach, who has Fibromyalgia, FibroBuddy.com offers a solution for people with Fibromyalgia who can no longer work full-time. FibroBuddy is a “members only” website that offers a wide variety of home-based Internet business opportunities that can be started with no upfront investment and require minimal effort. “Internet technology offers the opportunity to automate most of the routine tasks associated with any business,” explains Mr. Leach. “For people with Fibromyalgia, this means a good income can be earned with only a couple of hours at their computer each day.”
Pacing activities, alternating between activity and rest periods, is a recognized method of symptom management. This is often difficult to do in a workplace environment. With FibroBuddy.com, members can set their own pace and schedule, working and resting in durations their symptoms require. “I have Fibro, and when my symptoms flare up I benefit by being able to work for 20 minutes, without getting fully dressed, and then resting for as long as needed. I get back to it when I can,” explains Mr. Leach. “I founded FibroBuddy.com so that others could experience the same benefits and better manage their symptoms. The website provides all the automation tools and support services required to minimize the physical effort of running your own business.”
Dave Leach is an Internet marketing specialist and writer, living with Fibromyalgia.
