2006 “Charlie” Public Relations Award

May 13, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News

The recipient of the 2006 “Charlie” Public Relations Award spearheaded a public relations project for his local association. The objective of the program was to get the word out about how local independent insurance agents, insurance companies and affiliate members of the local association give back to the community and have a positive effect on its economy. So far, the program has been a great success.

Using email, newsletters, and video, this individual has helped to get the local association and its members on local TV stations for interviews and news stories. A major goal of this PR campaign is to highlight member agencies’ involvement in the local community, beyond the traditional scope of providing insurance. The local association and individual member agencies have been highlighted for charitable activities and other community contributions.

An entirely separate website, specifically focused on public relations, was created and linked to the main local association website. The website includes a “PR Pack” that includes information on how to write a press release, what makes local news, how to get on a local radio or TV show, and how to advance and promote your agency and the local association.

It is with great pleasure that I introduce the recipient of the 2006 “Charlie” Public Relations Award – Lester Robinson, III, The Northwoods Corporation, Williamsville, NY and Public Relations Chair for the Independent Insurance Agents Association of Western NY.
