A sixty nine year old British lady from North east England had a High flex Knee replacement in Chennai's Venkataeswara hospital. "This is the first of its kind for a British patient" says Orthopedic surgeon Dr.A.K.Venkatachalam of www.kneeindia.com.

As more patients from the UK and US flock to India for Orthopaedic surgery, Indian surgeons are able to provide world class surgery to discerning western patients. The latest to join the wave is a retired school teacher from North East England.
Mrs.MC, a pleasant lady with a love for the outdoors came down with Knee pain suddenly over the last 2 months. Unwilling to let her life be hampered by chronic arthritis, she took the bold step of flying to India for Knee surgery. She didn't bother inquiring in the NHS as she knew that waiting lists were very long. She had no private surgery in the UK and sought immediate treatment abroad. Her faith in the Indian Doctor was fortified by the testimonial of another British patient who had undergone bilateral Knee replacements earlier.
Her trip was smooth as was the surgical procedure and recovery.
She is currently recuperating from the op in the hospital in the company of her husband.
