HÔPITAL EXPO-PARIS –
Sensitron Europe Limited began its first trial of the careTrends system at Polyclinique de la Foret in Fontainebleau, France for 24 beds. “We chose Polyclinique de la Foret as the site for the first trial for Sensitron Europe Limited because of their desire to remain a cutting-edge and technologically-progressive hospital,” said Frederic Stagnitto, Managing Director of Sensitron France SAS. Sensitron’s careTrends allows the collection of accurate clinical data at the point-of-care and its dissemination into clinical information systems.
Sensitron Europe, a market leader in European wireless point-of-care solutions, also launched its French operations through Sensitron France SAS, for its careTrends Wireless Bridge system in France. Sensitron France SAS now offers its services throughout the French marketplace—and provides local management, sales and support to healthcare customers—with a management team that has over 30 years of experience.
“Sensitron France provides direct local knowledge of the healthcare infrastructure and marketplace, and its needs in France,” said Garry Stephen, CEO of Sensitron Europe. “Sensitron Europe is very pleased to have the experienced management team at Sensitron France leading our efforts in the French region, and extending an improved standard of patient care and data accuracy with our device-agnostic wireless system. In the brief period since its establishment, the management team at Sensitron France has created a network of partners in France and in this instance, worked with Datascope, which provided the monitoring devices and Airmedis, which installed the wireless network and assisted with some of the installation work.”
“Quality of patient care is a guiding principle at our clinic. I believe that the careTrends system will improve the overall quality of patient care and in addition, will improve caregiver and patient morale. The careTrends solution fits perfectly with the major project we have implemented to establish an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. It will enable physicians to have immediate access to reliable and exhaustive vital signs data that also becomes a permanent record for the clinic and the patient,” said Jerome Vidal, CEO of Polyclinique de la Foret.

The Efficient and Practical Software
Sensitron’s careTrends enables a wide array of vital signs and other clinical data to be transmitted wirelessly, via secure encryption, to any existing server-based electronic patient record. Sensitron’s patented system works with monitors from different manufacturers, including legacy systems, and is an integrated open system—which sits well with the home healthcare, nursing home and assisted living facility markets, in addition to hospitals. With Sensitron’s careTrends system, potential errors in data transmission are reduced by dating and timing all data—which creates an effective audit trail. The system directly links point-of-care medical devices with clinical information systems, thus reducing staff time and clinical risk, and allowing medical staff to maintain a higher standard of clinical care.
The careTrends system also addresses healthcare providers’ needs, including immediate access to information and reduction in paperwork. Patients’ data and trends can be presented intra-hospital, inter-hospital, at a clinician’s office, or via any web-based PDA or telephone.
