Bioenterics Intragastric Balloon

Bioenterics Intragastric Balloon (www.bibasia.info) is a non surgical treatment for obesity. This procedure eliminates risk involved with other obesity surgeries.

In this system weight loss is achieved by reducing the amount of food intake which would reduce calorie intake and hence results in consistent weight loss.

Bioenterics Intragastric Balloon also called BIB system consists of a soft expandable balloon, a tube for placement and a filling system. Weight loss surgeon inserts the balloon in the stomach through the mouth without any surgery. The balloon is then filled with sterile saline so that the balloon gets expanded and starts floating freely in the stomach.

Before inserting the balloon in the stomach the patient is examined with endoscopic camera. After ensuring that there is no abnormality the balloon is inserted in the stomach and filled with sterile saline through a small filling tube. The balloon has a self sealing valve which gets sealed automatically and starts floating freely.

Usage of BIB system for longer period is not recommended. If required the balloon can be replaced with a new one after a six month period of interval.

The balloon is removed in the same way as it is inserted. The insertion and removal procedure is done with the help of muscle relaxing relaxant and medications.

BIB system is not a magical method to reduce weight. BIB system is an aid to weight loss and works well in conjunction with a prescribed diet.

BIB system is widely accepted obesity treatment. Patients suffering from morbid obesity have achieved good weight loss with BIB system
