A Midlands film production company has received international recognition with a prestigious award for work promoting a major home sales company.

iceni Productions was presented with a silver award in the International Visual Communication Association’s excellence awards.

This is the second award iceni has won for the Kleeneze project, which involved producing a film to help recruit more distributors.

It also triumphed in the regional audio visual category from the British Association of Communicators in Business earlier this year.

This latest success will see iceni listed alongside recent IVCA award winners such as the Olympic Film for the London 2012 bid and BBC Worldwide.

The IVCA is the largest professional body of its kind in Europe and received entries from across the globe. More than 200 judges with specialist knowledge from across the visual communications industry were involved in selecting the winners.

Judges agreed iceni’s submission “demonstrated an excellent understanding of its audience that was translated into a creative and engaging experience. The content was well targeted and clearly conveyed its message.”

A trophy and certificate was presented to iceni’s managing director, Cathy Bentley, and producer director, Andi Jepson, by Radio Two’s Jeremy Vine at The Grosvenor Hotel in London, before an audience of 900 VIPs.

A spokesperson for the IVCA said: “The Awards set a standard of excellence and introduce clients to programmes and projects which have made a significant impact on business.

“As past recipients will testify, there is no higher accolade for creativity, originality, production expertise and sheer effectiveness.”

Production of Kleeneze’s ‘Opportunity’ DVD - presented by BBC Holiday’s Ginny Buckley - involved completing three versions in different languages.

iceni’s crew filmed in Sydney, South Africa, Rio and most recently at the glamorous One&Only Le Touessroc Hotel in Mauritius as part of the company’s international travel incentive for its top distributors.

The interactive DVD is also being featured on Kleeneze’s satellite shopping channel, and recent recruitment figures show that one in ten viewers of the film is signing up to work with the company.

Cathy Bentley said: “The award is an added bonus to what has been a really enjoyable project to be involved in. We are delighted to win, but it’s important to me that the video we make is a success for our client and contributes to their ability to grow their business.

“Around 16,000 distributors rely on the Opportunity DVD to promote their business and this was always in my mind. As a result, we’ve produced a promotional DVD that is far removed from a corporate presentation, something bright, glossy, entertaining and above all - believable.”

Michael Khatkar, European sales manager at Kleeneze, said: “The latest
Opportunity DVD from iceni has broken the mould once again, producing a
superior piece of work in a fresh, innovative style. The award is much
deserved.”
