New Appointment Boosts Lean Strategy at Hazardous Area Safety Specialist

PRLEAP.COM) Mike Watson has been appointed head of operations at Hawke International, the hazardous area electrical connection specialists whose products are vital to safety in gas hazardous areas in petrochemical industries. Mike’s experience will strengthen the company’s drive for more efficient production to meet rising demand.
An MSc graduate and member of the Institute of Quality Assurance, Mike brings to the post 26 years engineering experience. Much of this has been gained in defence and aerospace with companies such as BAe Systems and Gardner Aerospace. At BAe he was involved in the A320 programme and as the Assurance manager he was responsible for final QA and sign-off on completed wings.
Mike’s responsibilities at Hawke cover health and safety, facilities and production, with an emphasis on the drive for leaner market-responsive production. “I have experience in introducing and managing change programmes and I am confident that by ensuring stakeholder involvement we can bring tangible improvements to Hawke operations that will benefit our customers,” he commented.
Managing Director, James Phillips explained, “Quality is crucial to Hawke safety related products and Mike’s experience in aerospace means he brings to the company cutting edge expertise that will help us maintain quality as we deliver a more customer-led service.”
Married with a two and a half year old boy and baby girl, Mike lives in Cheshire and lists tennis, golf, walking and cycling among his outside interests.
