Lafayette, IN. JL Hufford Coffee and Tea, http://www.jlhufford.com, now carries the only combination coffee machine with a conical burr grinder and stainless steel thermal carafe. The Capresso CoffeeTeam Therm, model 455, is Capresso’s newest addition to its line of upscale drip coffee makers.

The 10 cup home coffee maker features new innovations such as one button programming and a unique white-on-black LCD display. In addition, the unit can grind coffee finely for bolder brews, or coarsely for milder coffees. The CoffeeTeam Therm can also be programmed to grind more or less coffee, and can be set to brew at regular, mild, or strong for varying brew strengths.
Although combination grind and brew coffee machines have been around for several years, Capresso CoffeeTeam coffee makers are the only units to integrate burr grinders, rather than blade grinders. These are the same type of solid steel conical cutting burrs that are found in Jura-Capresso’s fully automatic coffee centers, which sell for $1,000.00 to $3,600.00. The slow grinding of the burrs is said to impart minimal heat to the ground coffee, thus preserving more aroma than blade grinding. Conical burr grinders also produce a finer and more uniform grind than that created by blade grinders, which chop coffee beans as a blender would.

In the CoffeeTeam Therm, grinding and brewing are separated, keeping moisture away from the grinder. This is important given the Capresso CoffeeTeam Therm’s extra hot brewing temperature of over 200° F. The CoffeeTEAM Therm grinds the programmed amount of beans directly into the reusable Goldtone filter. Then the filter automatically swings forward and the brewing process begins. The coffee enters the thermal carafe through a closed lid, preserving an in-carafe temperature of just over 180° F. If you cannot wait for the whole pot to brew before grabbing a cup, the CoffeeTeam Therm’s Stop-and-Serve feature allows you to remove the pot while the unit is still brewing.
Other features include programmable brewing time, charcoal water filtration, easy cleaning of grinder and grind dispenser, and an anti-static design.

The Capresso CoffeeTeam Therm can brew a maximum of ten cups of coffee, and a minimum of four. It measures 16” x 12” x 11” (H x W x L), and weighs in at 10 lbs. It is now on sale for $299.00 with free shipping and free gifts at JL Hufford Coffee and Tea at: http://www.jlhufford.com/detail.asp?product_id=capresso-coffee-team-therm.
