Houston Data Conversion and Recovery 'Pioneer' Expands, Moves

(PRLEAP.COM) HOUSTON, TX, June 14, 2004 — A Houston data conversion and recovery companythat helped pioneer the industry at a time when computers were first emerging in the workplace and before most Americans had PCs in their homes has recently relocated to bigger quarters in Houston.

“The need is greater than ever for our services,” says Stephanie Robertson, co-owner and director of marketing for Disc Inc., founded in west Houston by company president Susan Coon in 1982. The new location at 6955 Portwest is in the same office park as the former business site near Washington Ave. and I-10.

“When Susan started the Houston data conversion and recovery company almost 25 years ago, no one could have foreseen where this industry would go,” says Robertson.

The Houston data conversion and recovery company was recently recognized by Houston Business Journal as a member of the publication’s Fast Tech 50.

“Today there are two computers in most homes and even the average small business has dozens of computers in operation,” says Robertson. “With constant changes in technology there is a continual need for converting valuable, but obsolete, historical data to new systems.”

The proliferation of other computer technology including digital cameras, videos and ipods also provides “lots of opportunity for people to need recovery help,” she says. “We specialize in getting people out of binds.”

Robertson recalls a recent encounter with a professional photographer who accidentally dropped his digital camera in the water while conducting a photo shoot at a fishing expedition. “He came to us frantic. We were able to recover every shot and even restore the camera.”

Another reason the Houston data conversiona and recovery company is moving, says Robertson, is to accommodate the additional space needed for updated equipment that quickly formats and labels CDs and DVDs. “There is a huge demand in this area. More and more businesses are converting from traditional paper brochures to CDs and DVDs.”
