StockInterview’s 7-Point Ratings System for Uranium Companies

Senior editor James Finch wrote in his recent article about the rating system, “It’s a guideline you can use, and we’ve not assigned a weight to each item. Nor have we named any uranium companies. Raising money in a down market is very tough.” Finch also cautioned investors about relying on historical uranium resources, which companies may announce, writing, in his article, “One should consider historical resources inadequate for evaluation purposes. They may also be misleading and open to hyperbole.” Finch advised that investors pay attention to the company’s resources, as announced in their National Instrument 43-101 (NI 43-101) filings. Finch wrote of the NI 43-101 document, “This independent geological assessment determines how many pounds of uranium a company’s property hosts. While there are flaws with this system, it can be a workable yardstick.”
