Nairobi, Kenya, – Less than a week ago, brazil.tv was launched. The new website offers the ability to stream video content and watch Brazilian television on the Internet. It is a free service that currently offers around 30 different channels covering everything from Sports to News to Entertainment and a variety of other topics in English. The web site features the ability to watch video streams on the site or on an external video player that appears in a new window.

The web site is a version of the popular brasil.tv for those who do not understand the native language. The web site is new, but is already becoming popular with dozens of users visiting the web site daily. When asked why he created the site, webmaster John van den Berg said, “ The web site was an attempt for people to get a glimpse of the Brazilian culture and entertainment without having to learn the language. Our service is completely free and is just an attempt to make Brazilian news available to everyone”. New channels are being added and one can suggest a stream to the web site’s web master. Site user Blake Anderson says, “This web site is a great medium for getting up to date soccer news, especially as the world cup is approaching and Brazil makes another run at the world cup championship. I can get all the up to date sports information I need from Band Sports on the site.
