Sheetal Pinto, a senior communications professional with over 15 years of corporate experience in marketing communications, public relations, business-writing and corporate social responsibility initiatives has taken on a new role as a freelance communications consultant. Having held management positions in several blue-chip international companies, including premier banking corporation HSBC and the world’s largest Internet Consulting group, WSI, Sheetal decided on the day she turned 35 years old, to don a new role as a consultant and full-time Mom to her two children aged 4 and 9.

“I have been working since the age of nineteen. My career so far has been in a high-stress, corporate environment where each day involved multi-tasking and managing deadlines. Over the last year or so, I realized I had reached a point in my life where I desired the ability to choose the kind of work I did and delivering the highest quality in every assignment at hand. Working in a large corporation, one often has to do a multitude of routine tasks that are not necessarily challenging. I wanted new challenges and build on my past experience to add to my learning and personal growth,” says Sheetal.

Taking this step was bold one for Sheetal, a new immigrant to Canada, having lived here only two years. Supported by her husband who holds a senior position in a large software corporation, Sheetal now offers communications consultancy to individuals and organizations. Her clients include businesses in the Greater Toronto region and across the border in the US. She also volunteers for local community groups, charitable organizations, schools and youth organizations.
