“What?! Minneapolis/St. Paul, Duluth and Rochester are the only Minnesota cities represented on Craigslist. We’re the capital city. We thought it essential for St. Paul and our neighboring cities, towns, local neighborhoods and communities to have their own free classifieds site.”
What makes it special?
“In addition to free online classifieds, we at StPaulsList.net have something Craigslist users don’t, our own integrated Google maps. Those placing ads on StPaulsList.net can choose to mark their post on a map for others to easily locate them in their local area. Visitors to the site can simply click on a mapped point and get a description of the ad and get a general idea of the location. It’s a very convenient feature, especially for non-profits and lesser-known community groups to advertise what they do and where they’re located. And it’s free for everyone.”
Additionally, StPaulsList.net allows users to assign tags to their listing. These tags help the community see what is popular at any given moment using “buzz-clouds” within each search area. “Soon, our users will be able to determine the most popular items from every page of the site. A sort of “crowd-swarming”, that may push some items higher in perceived value to the community. It’ll be interesting to see what people do, but one thing is for certain, it’ll be fun for everyone,” he concluded.
Currently, StPaulsList.net features free classifieds for St. Paul, West St. Paul, North St. Paul, West St. Paul, East St. Paul, Mendota Heights, Vadnais Heights, Falcon Heights, Roseville, Maplewood, Oakdale, Woodbury, Lilydale and St. Anthony.
