July 09, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
The education risk assurance services team at chartered accountants RSM Robson Rhodes, in Manchester, has been awarded a five-year internal audit contract with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

RSM Robson Rhodes is now the second largest internal auditor in the UK education sector, acting for 19 higher education institutions.

The appointment further strengthens its offering, and wins in the last twelve months include the University of Leeds, University of Central England, University of Coventry, University of Bangor, Norwich School of Art and Design and re-appointments at De Montfort University and the University of the West of England.

With over 30,000 students, campuses in Preston, Carlisle and Penrith and with an annual income of £122m, UCLan is one of the largest universities in the UK.

RSM Robson Rhodes’ team is headed by Ian Falconer and David McIntyre.

Ian Falconer comments: “We’re only a couple of appointments away from being the UK’s leading internal auditor for higher education institutions and, as such, are a dominant player in the market. We have made significant inroads over the last twelve months, and this is a key appointment for the education team in the North West. It should add significant weight to our efforts to build our higher education portfolio.”
