A new paper on Altitude Mountain Sickness and High Altitude Cerebral Oedema (HACO) has been publish by mountaineering website 8000metres.com

Cerebral Oedema kills more high altitude mountaineers than anything else, and scientists are still struggling to fully understand this serious illness.

This paper covers the history of altitude sickness, how it physically works as well as symptoms, treatments, acclimatisation and much more.

The paper is written by Philippe Bowles, Andrew Lindner and James Mallen.
