Seeking Volunteers for the 2006 Locust Quilt and Craft WinterFest in Columbia, MD

Greater Washington D.C./Baltimore Area –Volunteers are needed for the fifth annual Locust Quilt and Craft WinterFest to be held November 4 and 5th at the Hilton Columbia, 5485 Twin Knolls Road Columbia Maryland 21044. Youth, seniors and people every age in-between, are needed to serve as volunteers. Some volunteer opportunities are for a couple of hours, one day a year, once a month, while others every day of the year. Locust Quilt and Craft has a host of volunteer positions to choose from and training is provided.

Each volunteer will receive a T-shirt to wear during the assigned shift and a complimentary WinterFest ticket that is good for one entry to WinterFest for a time other than the time you are working. Available dates and shift times are from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, November 3, and 10:00 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov 5. Relief breaks will be given. Volunteer positions include registration area; quilt and needlework show assistants; setup and cleanup and relief persons for various positions. Also pre-event distribution of marketing materials and flyers throughout Howard County are needed. A portion of the proceeds from the festival benefits the Howard County Cold Weather Shelter

The 5th annual Locust Quilt and Craft ‘WinterFest’, is a celebration of art, quilting and crafting through Service, Support, Enablement, Encouragement and Promotion. ‘WinterFest’ offers a variety of home arts, quilts, and crafts vendors and exhibits. The Festivities run from Saturday, November 4, 2006 through Sunday, November 5, 2006, at the Hilton Columbia in Howard County Maryland. Official ‘WinterFest’ hours are Saturday November 4, 2006 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m; and Sunday, November 5, 2006 11a.m. to 4 p.m. Locust Quilt and Craft ‘WinterFest’ is a fun and educational resource complete with daily exhibits and demonstrations that are sure to captivate visitors of all ages. The 5th Locust Quilt and Craft WinterFest events include Craft Vendor Mall, Quilt Contest, Needlework contest and much more.
