John Reid & Sons (Strucsteel) Ltd wins Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2006

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2006 has been presented to John Reid & Sons (Strucsteel) Ltd for the second time. The award and a Royal Warrant scroll, was presented to the company by Dorset’s Lord Lieutenant, Mrs Anthony Pitt-Rivers, in a ceremony at the company’s Christchurch offices on Friday 23 June.

John Reid & Sons (Strucsteel) Ltd received the award because of their outstanding achievement in the furtherance and increase of the UK’s international trade. The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is the UK’s most prestigious award for business performance and recognises and rewards outstanding achievements by UK companies.

International Trade - companies that have demonstrated substantial increase in overseas business.

Before the ceremony, the Lord Lieutenant and the Assistant Clerk to the Lieutenancy, Marilyn Porter, were taken on a tour of the site by Rollo and Tim Reid. After the presentation ceremony, John Reid & Sons (Strucsteel) Ltd’s Managing Director, Michael Reid, said: “The main purpose of this Queen’s Award is to congratulate our loyal staff on their hard work. Like most firms we have a closely woven web of skills…well done all of you and thanks from all of the directors.”

John Reid & Sons (Strucsteel) Ltd design, make and erect steel structures, such as aircraft hangers, grandstands, multi storey buildings and bridges. They also make a range of sailing boats and a unique medical device - the K9 Orthopaedic Trolley.
