“FRIENDS OF MATT” INVITATIONAL TO RAISE MONEY, SPIRITS FOR MDA

Pewaukee, Wis.—The 19th Annual “Friends of Matt” Invitational will start at 10:00 a.m., rain or shine, at Wagner Park in Pewaukee on Saturday, August 5th, 2006. The Invitational involves a softball and volleyball tournament, children’s carnival, raffles, games, music, and a lunch-time cookout.

The community is invited to attend softball and volleyball tournaments. A children’s carnival, games, music, and several raffles will continue throughout the day. Brats, burgers, hot dogs, roasted corn, and beverages will be served during a lunch-time cookout from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“Friends of Matt” is a group of family and friends of Matt Strzyzewski of Brookfield, a 21-year-old who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at the age of two. He has served as an MDA Goodwill Ambassador and continues to be involved with efforts to fight neuromuscular diseases.

This Invitational, in its 19th year, has helped the “Friends of Matt” raise over $126,000 to help support research and services for those with neuromuscular diseases.
