July 19, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment NewsNew Albany, Indiana, July 19, 2006 — Reluctant Journey, the latest fictional novel by American author Peter West, has been released and is available through bookstores and online book retailers nationally and internationally.
Reluctant Journey is the first in a trilogy of fictional novels that chronicles how one man learns to cope with a devastating loss of a loved one from a tragic car accident. The novel, set in Indiana, also explores the impact that his discoveries about himself and the human condition affect the lives of those around him.
One reader from Amazon.com describes the novel by saying “Mr. West invites his readers along for the ride. Readers don't simply witness the emotional ups and downs during Richard's journey, they share in this emotional roller-coaster ride. And just when the reader thinks she might know the outcome, Mr. West takes her through another turn of events. A quick read, but packed full of emotion, love, loss and irony.”
Another reader adds that Reluctant Journey is “a book that is worth the price of admission.”
A third reader praises the novel by stating “This is an excellent read. In fact, it is one of the best books I have ever read. I could not put it down; I read it in one sitting. By the end of the book, I felt like I knew the characters. It also made me think very hard about my own mortality. It ran the whole gamut of emotions; it is only the second book to ever make me cry. I would recommend this book to anyone, especially anyone that has been through tough situations in life.”
In addition to writing fiction, Peter West has also had 12 of his poems published and was awarded an International Poet of Merit Award in 1997. West took up writing at an early age and has studied numerous best-selling authors before creating his own unique style. He is a graduate of Indiana University.
West is currently working on the second book of the trilogy, Unavoidable Journey, which is expected to be released April 2007. In addition, he has started another fictional novel that has the title A Last Sunset for Lawrence, which examines the adventures and misadventures of a man and his grandfather, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, as they journey across America in an attempt to honor the grandfather’s last wish.
