PLG 20 06 ‘Time for Tea’ at show garden for ‘Brookside’ star

For former ‘Brookside’ star Alex Davies it was ‘Time for Tea’ when she visited the Pure Leisure Group garden at this year’s Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show (RHS) held at Tatton Park in Cheshire.

Alex, who was Jacqui Dixon for 13 years in the Merseyside soap ‘Brookside’, was visiting her personal friend Vicki Morphet, marketing director of the Pure Leisure Group, at the prestigious event.

The Pure Leisure Group garden, designed by Tarleton Specimen Plants, was designed to highlight the pleasures of the typical English garden. The RHS judges awarded the garden a silver medal.

Alex, who has recently finished filming a role in the daytime TV soap ‘Doctors’, commented: “It’s a beautiful garden but it’s so hot you really just want to paddle in the wonderful pond.”

The main features in the garden are a luxurious 2-bedroom pine lodge and a beautiful pond surrounded by old Scottish cobbles. Over a wooden bridge lies a large lawn area complete with timber trellis. Visitors feeling flush at the end of the show, could treat themselves to a beautiful seven-foot bonsai tree showcased in the garden, which is a snip at only £9,000!

Pure Leisure Group is owned by one of the UK’s most successful leisure entrepreneurs, John Morphet. The Group offers timber lodges for sale at South Lakeland Leisure Village, situated in Carnforth, and also owns a number of overseas developments, including Cyprus, Marbella and Barbados.

John Morphet, owner and managing director of Pure Leisure Group, commented: “We are delighted to be sponsoring a garden at the Tatton show again this year. Tatton is the highlight of the northern gardening calendar and it gives us the ideal opportunity to showcase one of our luxury pine lodges from our Reiver range, which we offer at our holiday parks. Many people are surprised to find that holiday homes of this type can provide such high quality accommodation. This year’s lodge is one of the most luxurious to date, with features including flat-screen TV’s with surround sound.”

The lodge was provided by Reiver Lodges and could be viewed on request at the show. For details of holiday lodge ownership, contact Pure Leisure Group on 01524 784222.
