Elated Kwanchai Papatpong promises to invest fully 200 million baht on the EXPO

Bangkok – July 24, 2006 Since space reservation for the “23rd THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO” was open recently, 26 major car companies have confirmed their intention to participate. Not to be outdone, over 95 percent of the space for car audio and equipment has likewise been taken up.

Mr. Kwanchai Papatpong, Chairman of Inter-Media Consultant Co., Ltd. and Organizing Chairman of the “23rd THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO” to be held during November 30 – December 11, 2006 at Muang Thong Thani, revealed that, “As of today, companies of 26 car brands have confirmed their space reservation in the upcoming MOTOR EXPO. The brands will represent all major car makers from Japan, the USA, Europe and Korea. The Japanese camp is represented by Toyota, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Honda and Nissan; the Korean by SSanyong, the American by Ford and Chevrolet, and the European by BMW, the local Yontarakit Group will put on show Peugeot, Citroen, Gia, Audi and Volkswagen. Also SEC Group will bring Brabus, Hartge and Wald which are cars equipment come to the show as well. And whereas the maker of Mercedes-Benz is not participating, there will certainly be several new Mercedes car from the other instead.

“I am delighted with the excellent response from all branches of the auto industry, whether car companies, accessories or related merchandise, who have decided to join us as before despite the not so bright economic situation at present. I believe the car mart will turn very lively again at the year end as many companies will debut their new models in the EXPO. We expect the number of visitors to be no less than 1.6 million, placing orders for about 15,000 cars, with total transactions of over 20 billion baht”, said Mr. Kwanchai.

“Even though the state of the economy is not so brilliant, we are lavishing more than 200 million baht on the EXPO, to return profit both to the visitors as well as the participating companies”, he added.
