This luminescent pen, in a pearl pink hue from the Cross Century® Colors series, features a pink ribbon emblem on its clip and polished chrome plated appointments. With a suggested retail price of $45, this stylishly slim pen will be sold at Cross stores, through its website at www.cross.com, and through select department and specialty stores in the United States from September through October 2006. Ten percent of the retail sales price of this ball-point pen will be given to the Komen Foundation, with a minimum donation of $10,000. Cross is pleased to support the exemplary work of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its programs here and overseas. The Komen Foundation was established in 1982 by Nancy G. Brinker to honor the memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died from breast cancer at the age of 36. Today, the Komen Foundation is an international organization with a network of more than 75,000 volunteers working through local Affiliates and events like the Komen Race for the Cure ® to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. The Foundation fulfills its mission through the support of innovative breast cancer research grants, meritorious awards and educational, scientific, and community outreach programs.
