Ascent Scientific launches low-cost Tetrodotoxin – an essential research tool for neuroscientists

July 28, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Ascent Scientific (www.ascentscientific.com) announced the addition of Tetrodotoxin to the Low-Cost Ligand™ range. This standard tool is widely used by scientific researchers who investigate electrical activity in biological systems – helping research into a vast range of medical conditions including pain, epilepsy, sleep and cognitive disorders.

Tetrodotoxin modulates ion channels in biological systems, and is the latest addition to the Low-Cost Ligand™ range, which also includes other ion channel modulators, such as D-AP5 and MK801.

Steve Roome PhD, Commercial Director commented, “Tetrodotoxin is used by researchers worldwide, but up until now, has been prohibitively expensive for many research labs. We are pleased to offer this essential research tool at a price up to 50% that of other suppliers – with the Ascent Scientific pledge to exceptional quality.”
