Cherry Creek News endorsee Romer wins election

Another candidate endorsed by the Cherry Creek News went on to victory Tuesday in Colorado's primary election.

Chris Romer, son of former Colorado governor Roy Romer, won the Cherry Creek News endorsement then went on to win a primary against a sitting State Representative and a top Colorado policy analyst. More the 3,000 people visited the Cherry Creek News' website to view the endorsement, along thousands of readers of the print version of the paper.

The influential Cherry Creek News reaches households directly by mail in Denver's wealthiest neighborhoods. Its distribution includes Cherry Creek North, Country Club, Hilltop, Lowry and Bonnie Brae.

Romer scored a decisive victory over Jennifer Mello to secure the Democratic nomination for Senate District 35. Romer was endorsed by the influential Cherry Creek News, and joins a long line of candidates endorsed by that publication who have gone on to secure election victories. The Democratic nominee is almost guaranteed victory in November given the district's partisan dimensions.
