Tower of Power at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe on Thanksgiving Weekend

An internationally renowned, brass-based band that has defied description or categorization, TOWER OF POWER has a way of melding jazz, funk, rock and soul in a way no other band ever has. Harrah’s Lake Tahoe will be rocking with classic soul this Thanksgiving Weekend, Nov. 24 and 25, when TOWER OF POWER returns to the South Shore Room with their latest hits and four decades of classic tunes. In fact, verbal portrayals fail to capture TOWER OF POWER's horn driven, in-your-face sound. Some call it rhythm and blues. Others call it funk and "soul with a capital S." Bandleader and saxophonist Emilio Castillo explains it this way: “We're a soul band. We write soul tunes, we play them. We don't come out with our new reggae album, our new punk album — that's not what we do. It's soul music. It's a soul band."

TOWER OF POWER is still one of rock music's most steadfastly popular groups. When not in the studio, the band tours constantly, crisscrossing the world with sold-out shows in Japan, Europe and throughout the United States. Die-hard fans travel miles and hours to see them; some even plan their vacations around TOWER OF POWER performances. Over the past few years TOWER OF POWER has added new members and a fresh outlook, but is still a band that has remained true to itself and its fans, and never fails to please the audience.
