Scotland has designs on your home. International showcase launches their first offline exhibition

Part of the Homes & Interiors Scotland Exhibition at the SECC in Glasgow, the craftscotland exhibition opens on 9 September 2006 and will show world-class work by designer-makers based in Scotland. A selection panel nominated by the Scottish crafts community has curated the display. A programme of talks and demonstrations will support the exhibition.

The craftscotland stand will include furniture, silver, textiles, willow, glass and ceramics by makers from across Scotland including ceramicist Simon Ward, furniture designer Adrian McCurdy and textile designer Joanna Kinnersly-Taylor.

Craftscotland aims to showcase the quality and variety of Scottish craft available to over 10,000 visitors who will be able to discover more about the skills and techniques involved and be inspired to buy contemporary craft for their home.

Funded by the Scottish Arts Council, www.craftscotland.org creates a vital link between individual makers and potential buyers. The site provides a searchable online directory of Scottish makers and crafts outlets, news, features, business advice, events and opportunity listings for 3,000 Scottish crafts businesses.
