Retreat, Reawaken, Rejuvenate, Write! Coastal Carolina Writers’ Retreat Scheduled for May 20-22, 2005

Aspiring writers wanting to get published will learn how from professional authors, editors, and agents at the Coastal Carolina Writers’ Retreat, May 20 – 22, at Palm Key, South Carolina.

Twenty-four workshops, covering fiction and non-fiction, will teach the craft of writing and the business of getting published. Presenters include successful authors and writing coaches as well as representatives from national publishing houses, who will also hold individual appointments with retreat registrants. They include Joel Fotinos, publisher at Penguin Putnam; Gretchen Koss, Director of Publicity for Viking/Penguin; Linda McFall, editor at St. Martin’s Press; and literary agents Nancy Ellis and Sandra Bond.

Dick Bruso, master marketing networker with best-selling authors as his clients, will speak at the Friday, May 20 dinner. John Maxim, well-known local author of twelve novels including the popular Bannerman series, delivers the keynote address Saturday night.
Palm Key, an award-winning nature get-away on Knowles Island, stands at the headwaters of the Broad River, just 42 miles from Hilton Head. Its comfortable marsh-side cottages offer modern facilities and a relaxed atmosphere where participants can rejuvenate their creativity while learning from professionals and networking with other writers.
