Creation of New Annual Adequate Attorney Awards Announced

BOSTON, MA- LawFirmBlogging.com has announced the creation of the Annual Adequate Attorney Awards. Each year, LawFirmBlogging.com will award the Adequate Attorney Awards to a select group of lawyers. The aim of the Adequate Attorney Award is to recognize attorneys who are lawyers.

A non-competitive contest, the annual Adequate Attorney Awards do not make rankings or value judgements. Rather, the awards simply highlight attorneys that are in the legal profession.

Nathan W. Burke, editor and founder of LawFirmBlogging.com quoted himself as saying “As a reaction to the controversial “SuperLawyer” fiasco, we decided that New Jersey is right; saying a lawyer is “super” or “the best” could really confuse potential clients. But lawyers need to have awards and cool sounding titles. That’s where the Adequies come in.”

Rather than creating a complicated selection process, LawFirmBlogging.com decided to place only two restrictions on becoming an Adequate Attorney. First, the applicant must be a lawyer. Secondly, the applicant must post a comment on the site indicating their interest in being honored as a winner.

Attorneys selected as Adequie honorees do not recieve plaques or certificates, but instead are encouraged to use a simple, somewhat ugly graphic to designate their certification. “We didn’t want anything too flashy or attention-grabbing,” Burke said. “If we offered an attractive logo, it could mislead the public into thinking that the recipient was rewarded for the quality of their work, rather than their choice of occupation alone. That wouldn’t be fair.”
