Barbara Ann Derksen, author of 13 books, will showcase Second to None, Warrior Voices, her latest release, voted the Best Non-Fiction Book for 2006, at each of the above scheduled events. This book contains first person accounts of the Korean combat experience of veterans from the SECOND INFANTRY DIVISION of the Army. Division members also served in WWI and WWII and are still serving in South Korea, Iraq, and Fort Lewis today.

With two CDs completed, Miracles and Choices, HC Derksen inspires his audience with toe-tapping rhythms. He, and his wife Barbara, reside in Iowa. HC began writing his own music three years ago but he began strumming his guitar when he was 13. A self-taught musician, HC perfected his vocals with the help of an operatic voice teacher. He has performed at numerous churches over the years, singing music created by others to the enjoyment of all who listened. His mellow sound soothes his listeners, both men and women.

Author Barbara Ann has been writing and speaking around the country for 20 years. She served as a journalist for local newspapers for 8 years with over 2000 articles published in those papers as well as some international magazines. She is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, and Christian Writers Fellowship International. Her agent, Joyce Hart of Hartline Literary Agency is currently handling her latest book With Warped Certainty, the first of a murder trilogy and a devotional for bikers, Straight Pipes.

Reviews - Second to None:

This is an interesting and unusual book which gives a unique and very personal look at the Korean War. What makes this book different from most of this genre is the intimate and personal quality of each individual story. Each narration focuses on one or two specific events of combat or related events and is told in the first-person without embellishment. In fact, the self deprecating humor and complete honesty of these soldiers as they tell their often horrific stories gives richness to the text that is refreshing and extremely interesting to read. Colonel Larry Mayes USAF Retired

Second to None is an excellent book showcasing the integrity, the sacrifice, and the emotions of our soldiers as they served and defended the rights of the USA in the war in Korea. If you like/love history, if you know a soldier, if you are indifferent to our soldiers who are giving their lives for our freedom, you need to read this book. Jennifer McLeMore, writer

Review - HC Derksen
Being a veteran who served overseas, I especially like "God Bless America". It reminds me of why I served in the military - protecting our freedoms. It raises strong emotions every time I listen to it. Arne

"A Different man" should be an encouragement to everyone that we can all change - leave our past life behind and accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and start living a life with Him as our guide and companion. It has a great message. A friend
