Hsin Tien, Taiwan: Following the launch of PSd, PDC (Power Digital Card) today ramps up on the mass production of miniPSd products.

Today’s electronic products have become closely linked with computing power, but because of the difference in interfaces, data transferability across platforms is very inconvenient. A connection line with USB interface is needed to connect consumer devices with PC for cross platform activities, but the average user does not carry a connection line around. Thus, the launch of miniPSd allows the user to transfer data from his electronic device such as a mobile phone or smart phone to the PC and vice versa without additional accessories.

Popular devices that use memory cards are Digital Still Cameras and Mobile Phones. PDC’s PSd was created to target larger devices while the miniPSd is targeted at the mobile phone/smart phone segment. PDC’s miniPSd will be available in density sizes from 8MB ~ 512MB with 1GB and 2GB coming soon. The products will be made with lead free and RoHS compatible standards and are fortified with Duractec (www.duratect.com), allowing miniPSd to be 100% waterproof, dustproof, shock proof, and can withstand extreme temperatures. The current launch of miniPSd will be utilizing 70nm ~ 60nm memory technologies and be using only KGD (Known Good Dies) to ensure maximum quality and consumer rights.

According to PDC’s Sales Manager, Nelson Terng, “PDC’s miniPSd is the perfect combination of art and technology. We ensure to users the convenience factor of cross platform data transfers which is essential in today’s fast moving technology world. With miniPSd, there is no more need for USB cable lines, card readers, or even USB Flash Disks. PDC started on the research of multi-interface and cross platform products many years ago have developed a strong pool of patents to protect this category of technology. In other words, PDC is shifting from a pure manufacture of standardized products to our own products which have IP protection. We see our new lines of products move the current memory cards to a next generation level of technology in which multiple interfaces or formats are built into a single product.”
