Shelby Systems, Inc. has created quite a buzz while launching a new church ministry system named Arena. The unveiling of this new browser-based product occurred at the National Association of Church Business Administration (NACBA) convention in Chicago, IL on July 25, 2006. The team provided demonstrations to excited audiences throughout the three day event. “We were thrilled to find so much interest, excitement and positive feedback,” said product manager Joe Black. “The response was phenomenal, proving what we’ve believed all along – there are new, exciting opportunities for Arena to add value to the church software market.”

The Arena team has addressed these opportunities in a new and thought-provoking way with the Arena church ministry system (ChMS). Coupling a fully integrated contact, content and communication system with web authoring capabilities will enable churches to more quickly, easily and successfully administrate, communicate and most importantly, make connections and minister. Contact and follow-up communications are user-friendly and administratively supervised, providing automatic reminders and urgency alarms. Arena’s health meter is based on flexible criteria and reminds leadership if someone is struggling. Simple search features, hover texts and hover pictures help the user easily locate and contact people or groups. Arena’s web authoring tool publishes information directly to the web, streamlining promotions and external communications as well as encouraging “anywhere” connectivity. Two features that generated enormous positive feedback were Arena’s adaptability to any church’s ministry approach and its flexibility in hosting preferences. In addition to all the system’s features, membership into the shared source community will allow developers the ultimate level of customization.

Shelby Systems, an innovator in the field of church management software since the 1970s, continues to lead the industry with its newest creation of the Arena division. Arena, a browser-based, shared source church ministry system is dedicated to the power of community by encouraging creativity, inspiring connections and enhancing communication.

Arena will be generally available on January 1, 2007. Private demonstrations are available on request.
