Staffing Agency Sees Strong Job Market Growth Continuing Locally and Nationally

Bill Kasko, President of Frontline Source Group, a staffing agency in Dallas, TX [www.frontlinesourcegroup.com], is seeing an upturn in the job market. In fact, Frontline recently announced a new partnership with a locally based job posting board NoUnemployment.com [www.nounemployment.com] in hopes of finding additional talent for what are now being called difficult positions. He said that information technology positions right now are especially difficult to locate top talent.

“Growth within all job sectors has been ‘hot’ for quite some time, but now we’re really seeing an explosion of open positions,” Kasko said. “Java developers, AutoCad specialists, software engineers – companies are increasing their technology department, and we are following suit.”

With many qualified applicants applying for positions, Sherrie Dvorak, lead recruiter at Frontline Source Group, maintains that it is more important than ever to have an updated resume and a professional attitude.

“With a job market that is quickly growing in strength, this is the time when professionalism matters most,” Dvorak said. “Just as the positions open up, the candidates come out of the woodwork all at once.”

Dvorak said often all the candidates are applying for the same position. “We can’t find Java developers anywhere, but as more readily available positions open, the applications come pouring in,” Dvorak said.

The field is full of people who are out of work, currently employed, and new graduates, according to Dvorak. “Your appearance and resume will have a huge impact on landing a position or not, when facing so much competition.”

Keeping a resume professional and to the point, omitting irrelevant hobbies and other unnecessary information, is a basic for applying for a new position. Also, Dvorak adds, dressing and behaving professionally for the interview is a must.

“Dressing the part is important, it’s true,” Dvorak said. “However, equally important is having the right attitude. If you give the impression that you’re wasting your time in the interview or that you’re desperate for employment, you will severely limit your chances for landing the job.”
