Birth Arts offers this weekend-long workshop as part of their doula training program. We meet from 5 pm on Friday until 4 pm on Sunday. There are just some things you cannot get from a book and this is what this workshop provides.

It is designed to be an experiential, hands-on event. In order to get the most out of your workshop time, assignments such as reading and other projects will need to be completed beforehand. We see this as an opportunity to practice what you’ve read about, ask questions of experienced birth assistants, discuss issues and network with other doulas in training. A variety of teaching methods such as extensive role playing, video, discussion and lecture will be used to enhance your learning. Look forward to being a very active participant.

What does Birth Arts Offer that is so special?
We like to think that Birth Arts is offering students didactic, experiential, and diverse educational experience. We offer students an opportunity to experience education in a deeply personalized and specialized manner. Our educational approach is unique in the doula world and we want to share this with you. When receiving an education from Birth Arts expect to be challenged heart, mind and spirit. We work with students exploring issues that affect birth, affect, education and practice style and hope to train doulas who are comfortable with their role in the doula world.

What does the workshop include?
