Military ‘Blog Bog’ Detoured Through Launch of New CEU Website

September 04, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Education News
Quantum Units Education, a national provider of online and home study continuing education units (ceus), has launched a second website: QueCeus.com. Why? Security concerns of the U.S. military over the use of blogs and other forms of interactive communication on the internet render sites that have these features inaccessible.

In the course of working with the U.S. Navy Certification Board, Quantum Units Education discovered that the U.S. military along with other governmental institutions, is blocking access to websites containing blogs and other forms of interactive communication due to security concerns. As a result, participants from these locations who utilize the online and home study courses offered as continuing education units for license renewal, cannot accesss these sites.

In creating QueCeus.com, Quantum Units removed all blog and rss feeds from their original site, QuantumUnitsEd.com, while keeping all other material in tact. This allows licensed participants from any military or governmental agency to access the online and home study continuing education courses available.

Licensed professional therapists, counselors, nurses and social workers employed on military bases and various government facilities use the ceu courses offered by Quantum Units Education to renew their licenses. Online and home study courses such as HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, ethics, substance abuse treatment, pharmacology and many others help licensees to stay abreast of the treatment field in which they work.

The original site, QuantumUnitsEd.com, is still under full operation with an active blog and RSS feed. And, for those working from restricted locations, the new QueCeus.com supplies all the courses found on the original site without the interactive forum of a blog or the live RSS feed. Bye Bye ‘Blog Bog’.
