Customised enterprise application training from Tata Interactive Systems

September 14, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Tata Interactive Systems (TIS)’ clients across the globe including, BT, Citibank, Honda, Ingersoll Rand, Reuters, Sun Life Financial and Vodafone are among the organisations that are experiencing the benefits of TIS’s recently launched Customized Range of Enterprise Application Training (CREAT™).

According to Alan Samuel, head of TIS’s UK operations, training programmes that fall short of a perfect fit can ruin even the best enterprise-wide application rollout. The rigid designs of off-the-shelf courseware lack the malleability to satisfy diverse organisations’ specific needs.

“Enterprise application training (EAT) provides the constant challenge of producing training materials about a system that is still under development and so will continue to change – right up to its deployment, when the training materials will be required!” said Samuel.

“Over the last 16 years, EAT has been a significant part of our business – serving more than 350 clients around the world,” he added. “Time and again, we have demonstrated our flexibility in designing engaging and successful e-learning materials, working closely with those who are developing the systems to which the e-learning materials refer.

“A smooth enterprise application rollout can only be achieved through a true training partnership,” he commented. “It calls for tight integration with the software implementation team, as well as coordination with business analysts, application experts, and the end-users.

“Consequently, TIS decided to crystallise its experience in this field by creating a team dedicated to developing EAT learning materials. In turn, this has led to the creation of CREAT™.”

The components of CREAT™ help TIS clients safeguard their organisation’s investments in enterprise software. Samuel said that, with CREAT™, clients can ensure that:
• Employees are fully competent at ‘go-live’ for optimal utilisation of the application.
• The training is designed to map to their specific needs and facilitates seamless integration within the business
• The geographical spread of the client organisation’s employees does not pose a barrier to access to the learning materials.
• Training time is maximised while minimising business interruption through time away for training

“CREAT™ components are designed to provide solutions through the entire application implementation process, from the initial system design and development phase to the post go-live phase,” Samuel said.

CREAT’s components are:

• CREAT Analyze™: Comprehensive Training Needs Analysis including analysis, training plan, and role-based curriculum design.

• CREAT Design™: Application-specific training design including instructional and technical specifications and prototypes.

• CREAT Develop™: Content creation including instructor-led training and web-based training (WBT), facilitated WBT, e-tutoring, learning management system (LMS) customisation, and communication development.

• CREAT Deploy™: Deployment including hosting and reporting, train-the-trainer, and classroom based training.

• CREAT Assess™: Evaluation of results using three-tier assessments.

• CREAT Support™: User performance support following implementation.

“Clients have the flexibility to customise a CREAT solution comprising any or all of these components to suit their specific training need,” Samuel explained.
