Vidco to open new Residential Marketplace in Network Video Security

(PRLEAP.COM) Vidco Security Systems has identified a new threat to the residential marketplace and has raised the threat level to high. “Key bumping should be considered one of the highest threats to come about due to the viral spread of the technique via the Internet. This technique used to break-in a residence or business can be considered imminent because of the ease of entry and lack of specialized training.” says Norm Alexander, Vidco research security analyst. "This Key Bumping technique is especially troubling because it leaves no forensic evidence of a break-in."

Vidco views this threat as a perfect storm that is about to happen. There are many key factors that make this threat especially vicious. First of all the technique itself is easy to learn, needs no special tools, and the availability of bump keys over the Internet with instructions on how to use them is growing exponentially. Second, the rise in illegal drug use across all sectors of communities especially ICE. Lastly, home owner’s lack of knowledge of the threat and the false security provided by alarm companies and locked doors.

In 2006, Vidco is prepared to begin educating the general public and the communities we serve. "We are committed to exposing this threat while providing a cost effective solution to the problem" says Douglas Loo, President of Vidco Security Systems. Every security consultant on staff will be available to provide free security seminars to both the commercial sector and residential marketplace informing them of this new threat. We intend to reach out to business groups via their chambers as well as individual home owners though Home Owners Associations.
