THE URBAN DANCE EXPERIENCE MOVEMENT LAUNCHES TO PUT DANCE MUSIC VOCALISTS BACK IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Craig Godwin, president of Deeper Soul, a dance music production company, announces the launch of a new movement to bring R&B vocalists back to the forefront of the dance music genre. The Urban Dance Experience will be led onto the music and pop culture landscapes by a concert featuring six chart-topping dance music vocalists, accompanied by a live band, on October 12, 2006 at The Supper Club in New York City’s theater district.

“The time has come for the public to know who they’re sweating to. I want to put faces to the dance music that reverberates throughout thousands of clubs in the U.S. and abroad. When Sylvester, Two Tons of Fun, and Colonel Abrams were wailing on radio everyone knew who they were. Now, everyone seems to think it’s the DJ alone that’s creating the dance floor experience,” says Godwin, who’s had a number one record in the U.K.

In addition to the upcoming concert, The Urban Dance Experience has launched a Myspace page, will have a dedicated website, publish a newsletter and host seminars for vocalists interested in entering the dance music arena. Godwin will also seek opportunities for dance music vocalists to participate in the numerous conferences held worldwide.

“It is not my interest to eliminate the DJ or even remove them from their throne. The Urban Dance Experience movement is about getting the singers their just due,” Godwin says

The Urban Dance Experience Concert opens with DJ Ruben Toro, aka THe Latin Bull, setting the mood before Godwin, All Rize, Dawn Tallman, Michelle Weeks and Pepper Mashay, all chart-topping performers representing four states, take to the stage with a live band for a night of thrilling performances. Recording artist Lynn Lockamy and radio personality Barry Mason will host the show. The Supper Club is located at 240 W. 47th Street. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $12.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the Ticket Central website, www.TicketCentral.com or box office at 416 W. 42nd Street, 12:00-8:00 p.m.
