Liblines Exhibits Walking in my Shoes

September 15, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
Walking in my Shoes was developed by LibLines founder, Sarah Copeland, as a way to share the stories of those affected by this terrible disease without prejudice or preconception. She believes that the shoes replace the photo or face-to-face meeting and allow the reader to simply use the words of the storyteller to get an understanding of their struggle. Copeland’s goal for the exhibit is that visitors to say to themselves “all the things I learned about you were in your words.” She anticipates eventually making Walking in my Shoes a traveling exhibit beginning in the Coastal Empire and extending throughout the country.

The Walking in my Shoes exhibit is being displayed on October 7, 2006 on Savannah’s famed River Street and will be held in conjunction with River Street Pink Ribbon Walk sponsored by Skirt! Magazine. For information on the Pink Ribbon Walk, contact Sarah Copeland at 912-695-2364. Writing submissions for Walking in my Shoes can be sent to LibLines, Inc, PO Box 22182, Savannah, GA 31403. Submissions are due no later than September 30th. The writers of the stories that are chosen for the display will be contacted and then asked to send the shoes that accompany the story.

LibLines line of greeting cards is sold through a variety of retail outlets and on the LibLines website at www.liblines.org. The cards offer messages of love, support, encouragement, and humor for those battling breast cancer. LibLines, Inc is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that raises money for breast cancer research, education, and support services.
