San Diego, California - Sept 16, 2006 - Getting up and going to work - one of the things most of us don't look forward to, suddenly got easier thanks to a free daily haiku service that helps people get into a calmer mindset.

Haiku poet and publisher Edward Weiss created the service called "Daily Haiku by Wisteria Press." People who sign up at http://www.wisteriapress.com will receive one haiku a day delivered by email. They can opt out of the emails at anytime.

"Getting past the first few minutes after arriving at work is the biggest problem most employees face," says Weiss, who used to work all kinds of odd jobs to make ends meet." Haiku poetry has an unusual effect on people in that it takes them away to another place and time very quickly."

Some sample haiku from the website:

Dead of winter —
in the frost-covered oak
a crow's nest

Summer showers
between rain-soaked leaves
a hyacinth macaw

So many buckets
for one sandcastle…
summer's end

The daily haiku service is ideal for anyone who just wants to take a quick break from work and the pressures of life and relax…even if it's just for a minute.

Edward Weiss is a poet, author, and publisher of Wisteria Press. He has been helping students learn how to write haiku for many years.
