Denver, CO— 34 Degrees Foods with Latitude is pleased to welcome Steven Millard as its national merchandising director and eastern regional sales manager.

Millard, whose past experience includes work as both a regional specialty buyer for Whole Foods and a professional chef, has been hired to develop a national merchandising strategy for 34 Degrees. In addition to hiring and training a national team of dedicated 34 Degrees merchandising personnel, Millard will take the lead on the creation of in-store promotions, merchandising and signage packages and a comprehensive 34 Degrees merchandising training program.

“We believe that supplier-driven merchandising programs are the future of the specialty food industry,” said 34 Degrees Founder Craig Lieberman. “It is critically important that the people we hire to represent our products at store level are not only well-informed about those products, but also are able to work with our customers to suggest ways to create signage and displays that will increase sales. For this reason, we are delighted that Steve has joined our team. His knowledge and expertise with regard to specialty cheeses and cheese accompaniments is unparalleled, as is his understanding of strategic merchandising.”

Before joining 34 Degrees, Millard most recently worked as the regional specialty buyer for Whole Foods in the northeast. He was responsible for buying cheese, olives, fresh pasta and sauces, coffee, tea, wine and beer for two regions. Millard began his food career as a chef, and is a graduate of the Johnson & Wales Culinary Arts Program.

In addition to his national merchandising role, Millard will represent the products of 34 Degrees on the east coast working with the company’s distributors and retail customers on new products and promotions.
