The reviewer for Rolling Seas Reviews, Daniel Stapleton, recently sequestered the novel “The Beach Club” by Richard Paloma, and gave it a ‘wrap’ for Helm Publishing, Illinois. Daniel recommended avid readers track down this crime novel in Barnes and Noble stores across America, and find a secluded haven to take pleasure in this read.

Daniel said, “Richard Paloma takes you on a personal tour of the reality of a police department. A most enjoyable and must read if you crave crime fiction. This story will let you see behind the hype of the media, and allow a look at the personal side of police officers all over the world, their ups, downs, fears, and humor. Though the book concentrates on Eden Valley PD, the concepts and ideals could be associated with any Police Department.

Paloma builds each character carefully, letting you into the mindset of the Eden Valley Police Officers. You will recognize characters as people within your own life, those that are kind, and of course those that get to where they are going by using other people as their stepping stones. It felt so real that I cannot look at a police officer without thinking about what is behind the scenes in this person’s life.”

Daniel Stapleton warned, “Be ready for the unseen twist at the end of The Beach Club! You will be surprised, and like me, kick yourself for not thinking of it earlier.”

The Californian author, Richard Paloma—who has pursued a career in law enforcement for over seventeen years—has this, in part, to say about his novel: ‘The Beach Club is a frolic of maverick and freewheeling cops in their quest to identify and apprehend a sexual predator, internal challenges of morality and commitment as well as overcoming interference by department administrators.’

The Beach Club sounds like a movie production in the making for Mel Gibson or Martin Scorsese — when reality is only ever a heated breath away.
