Chicago, IL October 3, 2006 — Novel Action™ announced today the launch of Novelaction.com — a new online book exchange store with a centralized inventory of used novels. Members select any books they desire from the store’s website and send in an equal number of their books in exchange. The company offers flat rate shipping and there are no transaction fees. All book exchanges are done directly with Novel Action, and all books meet established quality guidelines.

“Many avid readers no longer purchase new books because of the high prices. Used books are generally high-priced as well, and the selection in used book stores is often hit or miss,” said Dianne Denton, founder and CEO of Novel Action. “Although the prices of used books found online may seem reasonable at first glance, per book shipping costs and/or transaction fees really add up so it’s typically not cost effective over time. For example, the book itself may be priced at a penny which seems like a bargain, but if the shipping cost per book is $3.50 or $4.00, then the real cost for 10 books is actually $35-$40.

We believe there is a clear need for a centralized, economical exchange venue that provides book lovers with a great selection of used books, reasonable shipping costs and reliable service. The Novel Action online book exchange meets that need.” A 12 month membership on NovelAction.com is $25 which provides unlimited access to the site, and unlimited book exchanges.

Steven Wolfe, a member of Novel Action said “I think it’s a great idea and $25 seems like a bargain since I've spent that much for just one new novel. It’s easy to use, and I no longer have to wait for book sales or coupons. The customer service is outstanding and most of the books I have received look brand new.”

Deborah Williams, also a member, is aware of member to member book trading services, but said “I prefer dealing with a company. They have a great selection of books and it’s easy to use. I definitely recommend Novel Action to others and have told many people about the site.”

Ms Denton indicated that their used book selection is currently in the thousands and continues to grow. “At NovelAction.com, because all books are treated equally, members can exchange paperbacks for hard covers, romances for mysteries, etc. so members are less restricted.” According to Ms. Denton, to begin exchanging books, members first pick the books they want from the site, then send in an equal number of their own books in exchange. The selected books are then shipped to members within 24 hours. There is a flat shipping rate of $4.80 for up to 6 pounds of books which is roughly 13-17 paperbacks.

For new customers that join and order their exchanges by November 1st, the company is discounting their flat rate shipping to 50 cents with the use of coupon code PRNT50 during checkout.

Novel Action has also pledged a portion of its proceeds to go to selected charities beginning in the 4th quarter. “I think it’s very important for companies to support charitable organizations, said Ms. Denton. I’m certainly no Bill Gates, but we want to do our part.” More information about the Novel Action online book exchange and the charities the company will support can be found at www.NovelAction.com.
