Chukar Cherries

Prosser, WA 10/6/06 - Chukar Cherries, Washington State’s year round producer of gourmet cherry sweets, treats and gifts, has recently added a night shift to their production in preparation for the holiday rush which typically hits in early October and lasts through December. With forecasted demand this year, a second shift is a necessity. “As we continue to grow the demands on our production team increase and we must be creative with our limited space,” says Kathleen Young, Chukar Cherries Production Manager.

The long-term solution for the increasing demand is a larger warehouse. The company is currently in negotiations for larger headquarters, but in the meantime two shifts have proven adequate. According to Young, “It’s going to be great this year having a second shift for all production departments. It’s just a tad too crowded right now.”

While the Production Team is producing and packaging Chukar’s wide array of cherry and berry sweets, treats and gifts, the remainder of the Chukar Team is preparing for the release of the Fall 2006 mail order catalog and new product launches early October. Anticipated new offerings include Curried Cherry Chutney, Pinot Noir Chocolate Cherries, and a Dark Chocolate Assortment Box.
