A trip to space for $25, or a creative way to full fill a space flight dream?

(PRLEAP.COM) (DNAtoSpace.com) Mountain View, CA – The success of SpaceShipOne almost one year ago, and the subsequent announcement of Virgin Galactic to open up space for tourism has raised hope for space travel dreamers. While the price tag of US$200,000 for a space flight is beyond the reach of the masses, serious space travel dreamers with modest means need to get creative to finance their space flights.

DNAtoSpace’s creator is trying to raise the funds for a space trip by enabling anyone to hitch a ride in his suitcase for US$25. The idea being that interested space travelers can send DNAtoSpace their DNA, via their hair sample, which will be taken to space on the sponsored space trip.

While it’s a novel idea to raise funds for a space trip, it remains to be seen if anyone bites this marketing play. History has shown us that anything is possible. From the pet rocks that flew off the shelves in 1975, to the million pixels that were each sold for a dollar each in 2005, to the naming of stars for a fee in 2002, each idea represents a pioneer marketer with a vision and goal.
