TMPG Adds DVD Source Creator 4 to Its Line of Advanced TMPGEnc Products

October 18, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Gardena, CA — October 18, 2006 — TMPG, Inc. (www.tmpg-inc.com), the company that makes digital video easy, is set to add its new DVD Source Creator 4 software to its growing TMPGEnc-brand lineup. The product provides effortless editing and enhancing of almost any video file, which it then encodes to standard DVD compliant MPEG files. Multiple clips can be encoded into one file, or separate files can be encoded for each clip. Release date is scheduled for Wednesday, October 18.

“This powerful new software is based on our award-winning TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress engine,” commented Kimi Matsuki, TMPG CEO. “DVD Source Creator 4 utilizes the engine’s most important features, such as an easy-cut editor, video filtering, and automatic scene-change detection. Furthering its functionality, the TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator 4 is optimized for the latest Intel® Core 2 Duo technology.”

Main Features
DVD Source Creator 4 software incorporates the same easy-to-use interface as used in the advanced TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress. This ensures users of an easy, four-step encoding process: start, source, format, and encode. A special template is embedded for each output format to simplify selecting the correct spec settings.

The new TMPGEnc product works with virtually any existing video-file format (e.g., DVD, HD MPEG, DV, AVI*, MPEG 1/2, WMV*, and QT*). It encodes to either standard MPEG 1 or 2 specifications for DVD, SVCD, or VCD file formats, which are then automatically prepared to be authored with DVD-authoring software such as TMPGEnc DVD Author 2.0. Even DVD-Video and Windows XP Media Center Edition PC files (DVR-MS) can be imported with the Source Wizard.

DVD Source Creator 4 has an easy but powerful cut-editing system, which permits cut-edit at the frame level. It even has the capability to split one clip into multiple clips. To make editing clips easier, scene changes can be found with a simple mouse click, and flagged as key frames. If using TMPGEnc DVD Author 2.0, these frames carry over for continued use as chapter entries.

12 unique filters provide virtually limitless enhancement options. They include: picture cropping and resizing; video and audio fade in/out, video noise reduction, color and audio volume correction, picture contour enhancement and bilingual audio. Filters may be registered one time as a group and applied to multiple clips, saving time and eliminating possible error.

Availability
TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator 4 will be available for downloading at www.tmpg-inc.com beginning October 18 at a cost of $39.95 (full version) or $25.95 (DSC 2x upgrade).

*Compatible with all AVI Direct Show compatible codecs. WMV files require Windows Media Player 9 or above; QT files require QuickTime Player 7 or above.
