ARLINGTON, WA (October 2006)-. Moon Valley Organics, makers of natural and organic skin care, is raising the bar. Now all of their natural body care products are made with 84% or more organic ingredients, obtained as locally as possible and sustainably harvested. These unique body care products are made from ingredients mostly grown and processed in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, meeting high standards of integrity and quality. Their reformulation is continuing one step further by becoming WSDA certified organic by early 2007.
In addition to reformulating the inside, they also redesigned the packaging to include artisan quality, letterpress print on hand-made paper, made from calendula flowers grown on their farm. Recycled paper and soy based ink are used for all their printed materials. All of their body care products are made with non-petroleum ingredients, packaged in 100% recyclable containers. Moon Valleys’ commitment to the environment dictates every decision they make. “The choice is made by each and every one of us to do our part in creating a livable, abundant future for our children and the Earth”, remarks Kim Denend, co-founder of Moon Valley Bees and Botanicals, “We act as agents for social change through each decision we make and action we take."

Kim Denend and Aaron Otto, co-owners of Moon Valley Organics, combined their knowledge of organic farming and raising bees to create healing salves, soaps and lotion bars made with the purest ingredients available, most of which are grown on Pragtree Farm in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Pragtree is a community based land trust and has a rich historical base in organic agriculture, alternative energy, social justice and educational outreach. Moon Valley continues this proud heritage as a sustaining partner of the community land trust movement. A portion of their proceeds and a dedication of their time go to sustaining local communities and preserving farmland. “We believe in giving back to our community, strengthening self-sufficiency and promoting ecologically sustainable values,” added Kim.
